Riedel Crystal has been in existence for over 300 years. The family-run business has seen eleven generations of Riedels overseeing the creation of their fine crystal glassware, decanters and accessories. Based in Austria, Riedel has been a force among wine connoisseurs in Europe for as long as the name has been associated with fine wines. Though their glassware has been available for purchase in the United States through high-end retailers, there was not a specific place to go that sold only Riedel products. The family decided to take the U.S. market by storm and enter the electronic commerce age in one fell swoop. Riedel asked FireThread to implement its custom FireThread Ecommerce solution package to create the official Riedel Webstore for U.S. buyers and collectors. FireThread designed the Web store to showcase the entire collection of Riedel crystal and gave over administrative power to Riedel so they can now manage their inventory, customers and track the success of their new online store. FireThread Studios gave the Riedel family the opportunity to visualize their imagination and the result is their highly successful online Webstore. The site launched in July 2008.
